Object's Chris Seymour promoted to Microsoft Technology Strategist
Object Consulting's Chris Seymour heads for Surface
SYDNEY, 9 February, 2010 - Object Consulting, one of Australia’s largest enterprise solutions developers, has promoted Chris Seymour to the newly-created national role of Microsoft Technology Strategist. Chris, who heads Australia’s most experienced Microsoft Surface (the global vendor’s new, multi-touch computer) operation, will lead the applications development projects for Australian banking, retail, hospitality, education and other enterprises who wish to leverage Surface’s engaging, 360° interactive platform.
Chris recently led Object Consulting’s project to develop applications for Australia’s first Surface implementation, which was unveiled to the public last month. He was also instrumental in achieving Microsoft Surface Strategic Partnership status for Object, making the company one of fewer than 20, worldwide, to achieve the highest Surface accreditation.
Chris brings to the role more than 10 years’ industry experience, in Australia and in his native UK – performing key architecture and development roles across software vendor, corporate and consultancy environment. He is typically engaged across a number of projects, working with clients to drive innovation in their business.
He has been with Object Consulting since 2007; most recently as a Supervising Consultant and Microsoft Practice Lead, while his earlier career includes as a Software Architect for publicly-listed companies IWL Ltd and StatPro Ltd, and as a developer for two of the UK’s largest electricity boards.
“Surface brings a fantastic opportunity to better engage with the public; especially as part of an innovation approach that connects mobile, tablet computing and the wider customer experience. My role is to help our customers understand how current and next-wave technologies can help them form better customer relationships. We are already working with major organisations that want to provide intuitive and rewarding interactions that integrate with their existing enterprise systems", Seymour concludes.
Dr Julian Edwards, Object Consulting’s Chief Operating Officer, comments: “Delivering Australia’s first public-facing Surface implementation was a significant achievement – and its success, from Object’s point of view, is largely attributable to Chris’ fast-growing expertise and understanding of this new technology. Surface is clearly a technology for the future – and I believe that under Chris’ leadership, our team will continue to expand our Surface and multi-touch leadership, and our ability to help customers develop effective commercial applications for the Surface platform and future innovative technologies.”
Chris Seymour holds a BSc (Hons) from Staffordshire University.
