About SEPG

SEPGSM is an international conference series presented by Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a USA federally funded research and development centre for advancing software engineering, process improvement principles and practices. The SEPG Conference is a catalyst for government and industry to understand the implications and benefits of adopting process improvement. The conference provides the opportunity for organisations to understand how they can become competitive through improving the quality of their products and at the same time reduce the costs and time to market.

The theme for the 2008 Conference is Beyond Development. In today’s market, demands to be globally competitive require organisations to look beyond the simple development of systems and software. Organisations must not only deliver a product but it should be on-time, within budget and meet the needs of users. This requires organisations to look beyond development to address issues which cover systems of systems engineering, improving organisational maturity, ensuring systems security, the ability and agility to respond to new technologies, develop and maintain appropriate skills through a capable workforce, assuring quality and achieve a return on the investment.

Conference Sub-themes:
  • Capability Maturity Model® – development and acquisition
  • International Standards - ISO/IEC 15504, ISO/IEC 12207, ISO/IEC 15288, ISO 9001
  • Services – ITIL and ISO/IEC 20000

  • High Maturity Experiences
  • Process Improvement Case Studies
  • Methodologies – Agile, LEAN, Six Sigma
