Gerry Carroll

Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman

Gerry Carroll founded Object Consulting in 1989, pioneering the use of emerging Object Oriented (OO) technologies in Australia. Since then he has overseen the growth of the company into a 280-strong team which remains ahead of the curve through continuous innovation.

Gerry is responsible for the overall performance and strategic business direction of Object Consulting, including its subsidiaries. He firmly believes in a sustainable future and finding new, more effective and efficient ways to develop and deploy technology. Gerry is an active member of the The Prince of Wales’ Business & the Environment Programme (BEP), a University of Cambridge initiative for sustainability leadership, which brings together a growing group of business leaders who recognise that the business case for sustainable development is compelling and could represent the key to competitiveness and profitability in the future.

Object’s staff share Gerry’s commitment to innovation and – through Object’s Sustainability Practice – endeavour to develop sustainable client solutions to simultaneously produce business and environmental benefits.

Previously, Gerry held roles including Vice President in charge of Information Systems for the ABN Bank in New York and Associate Director in charge of development, maintenance and support of software packages and systems for banks and finance companies in Australia and New Zealand at Computations Pty Ltd. A key industry figure, he was instrumental in establishing the Object Oriented Special Interest Group within the Australian Computer Society.
