SYDNEY, 11 September 2009 - Kevin Francis, Object’s Practices Manager and Solutions Architect MVP, and Darryl Chantry,  Lead Consultant at Object, feature on Microsoft's Tech-Ed website discussing the challenges of organisations moving to the cloud and the differences between cloud platforms.

This TechTalk was recorded at Tech-Ed Australia, held from 8-11 September 2009 on the Gold Coast. At this event, Darryl Chantry presented on "The Microsoft Application Platform: A Perspective", outlining the importance of application platforms and providing a general model for both on-premises and cloud platforms. Darryl used this model to examine several important issues in this area, including the competition between .NET and Java, why SOA is failing, and how the Microsoft platform compares with its on-premises and cloud competitors. Kevin Francis' Tech-Ed presentation was about "Challenging the Role of the Architect".
