Sydney - June 29th, 2004 - Nokia appoints Object Training as exclusive Certified Training Centre in Australia and New Zealand

Object Training To Run Nokia Developer Courses To Accelerate Mobile Skills And Application Development

Object Training, the commercial training division of Australian enterprise software developer Object Consulting, has been appointed as the exclusive Nokia Certified Training Centre (CTC) in Australia and New Zealand.

Object Training will provide all Nokia mobile technology and application development training programmes for the local developer community to help meet the demand for skills and accelerate the development of mobile applications and services in Australia and New Zealand.

Commencing in July 2004, Object Training will run Nokia’s new instructor-led training programme to provide developers with technical knowledge, hands-on experience and professional support for creating mobile applications for Nokia devices. The courses, to be run in Sydney and Melbourne, are tailored to all levels of developers and will focus on new mobile technology growth areas. Object Training expects to roll out a training programme that will include courses in Java, XHTML, MMS and the Series 60 C++.

Object Training was named as the sole Nokia CTC in Australia following a request by Nokia to respond to its tender for a local training centre provider. Object Training was awarded the tender based on its ability to meet Nokia’s training requirements which included at least one Nokia Certified Trainer associated with the centre and adherence to instructor and student equipment guidelines. Additionally Object was selected for its overall software development experience and track record which complemented its established training centre experience.

As the capabilities of mobile devices continue to grow exponentially, the need for skilled developers grows just as rapidly. Object Training will commence their Nokia Training Programme with the ‘Java MIDP Development Introduction’ course in Melbourne on July 19-22 and in Sydney on July 26-29.
