Object Consulting is currently seeking a Java Developer for our Sydney team.

The core function of the Java Developer is to provide analysis, design, coding and documentation skills on projects. The Java Developer takes responsibility for one or more components of a system, from inception to completion. The Java Developer must work to standards set for projects, and is responsible for ensuring that suitable testing takes place and that appropriate documentation is produced.

• Producing components as allocated by Team Leader
• Determining low-level requirements for components
• Completing low level design and detailed specifications for allocated components
• Ensuring correctness of interface specifications against program specifications
• Producing source code and design documentation in accordance with project standards and specifications
• Ensuring that components integrate smoothly with the rest of the system
• Participating in code and design reviews of other components
• Assisting the Testing Team in the production of test specifications
• Performing basic unit testing
• Assisting the Tester in carrying out Test Plans
• Correcting errors as identified by unit program tests
• Delivering accurate and complete documentation
• Performing data conversion in line with conversion requirements
• Working with the Infrastructure Team to maximise reuse
• Assisting User Documentation Team

Skils and Experience

• Low level object-oriented analysis and design skills
• Experience in two or more of the following: Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
