Object Consulting is currently seeking a Tester for our Sydney team.
This is a technical role responsible for the overall testing and quality strategy to be employed on projects. The Tester is responsible for executing the Test Plans This involves the creation of the Test Plan and preparation, organisation and execution of test cases for unit, integration, system and regression testing.
Responsibilities
- Examining the Features list as part of Business Requirements Specification
- Systematically developing test cases based on the features
- Create test scripts to measure and analyse performance metrics
- Specifying expected results for each test case
- Executing the test cases
- Examine the results for each test case;
- Identifying those situations in which actual results do not match expected results;
- Documenting the results of the tests cases
- Working closely with developers and client stakeholders
Skills and Experience
- The ability to produce testing deliverables such as: Test Summary Reports (Functional
and Non-functional), Release Notes, Test Plans, Test Strategy, Test Status Reports, Business Analysis
- Familiarity with Oracle databases
- A familiarity with all phases of SDLC
- Knowledge of software testing approaches, in particular Featured Driven Development, agile and iterative methodologies
- A methodical approach with attention to detail
- Practical experience with web testing
- Technical acumen to understand and communicate with developers
- Familiarity with XML
- Test Automation
- Knowledge of build and deployment processes
- A strong understanding of quality standards
- An ability to conduct performance tests using non-commercial tools and understand concepts of concurrency, stress and load tests
- An ability to clearly describe different test phases
- An ability to manage defect resolution processes
- An ability to prepare comprehensive test data for test scenarios
- An understanding and practical experience with test harnesses or test stubs
- Excellent verbal communication skills at all levels
- Excellent documentation skills
- Be proactive but also an ability to be a team player
- An ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Strong problem solving skills
